Welcome to a symposium on recent scientific advances on biological aging and immunomodulation in HIV-1 infection, as well as on the role of circulating HPV-DNA in tonsillar cancer.
At this symposium, three leading virus researchers in Sweden – Associate Professor Ujjwal Neogi (Karolinska Institute), Professor Marie Larsson (Linköping University), and Associate Professor Ola Forslund (Lund University) – will present key results and conclusions from their previous and on-going research in the field of virology.
Programme
09:00 Welcome (Joakim Esbjörnsson, Systems Virology, Department of Translational Medicine, and Marianne Jansson, HIV-1 and HIV-2 host interactions, Department of Laboratory Medicine)
09:05 Integrative systems analysis-based risk stratification for immunometabolic complications and biological aging in well-treated HIV infection (Ujjwal Neogi, Karolinska Institute)
09:40 Break
09:50 Decoding the mechanisms behind HIV-1's immunomodulation of dendritic cells’ activation of T cells (Marie Larsson, Linköping University)
10:25 Aspects on circulating HPV-DNA among tonsillar cancer patients and bacteria among respiratory laryngeal papilloma (Ola Forslund, Lund University)
11:00 End of seminar
The arrangement of this seminar is linked to the defence of the PhD thesis “Virushost interactions in HIV-1 and HIV-2 infections” by Emil Johansson the 17th of May at 13:00, in the Agardh lecture hall, Clinical Research Centre, Jan Waldenströms gata 35, Malmö.
