Pandemics and Alertness -PandA -brings together virologists and scientists working with neutrons, X-rays, and complementary techniques to spark collaboration across disciplines and research infrastructures.
The initiative aims to:
- Build awareness, competence, and accessibility among virologists for using large-scale X-ray and neutron facilities
- Foster cross-disciplinary exchange, training, and shared methodologies
- Support the integration of these advanced research infrastructures into rapid pandemic response strategies
- Develop a practical handbook for how to deploy neutron and X-ray facilities effectively in future crisis situations
By strengthening connections and preparedness, PandA lays the groundwork for more resilient and informed scientific responses to future pandemics.
